Programs
for School Staff
Educators are human too.
You may have more capacity, but you don’t have less humanity.
Unfortunately, credentials and experience don’t erase our basic human need for understanding and support as we obtain new knowledge and face today’s greatest challenges together.
FH&A delivers progressive programs that both train and support school staff on the most pressing and relevant topics of our time. We work at the intersection of student and staff mental health amidst rapid AI-driven global and societal change.

Taryn Hughes, a certified Compassion Fatigue Therapist, certified coach, and founder of FH&A authored the first white paper on AI Distress and AI Traumatic Stress. She is also the creator of the inaugural workplace recovery program for Compassion Fatigue and Vicarious Trauma.
Compassion Fatigue RESET™ first launched with NYC DOE public school teachers in 2017 and has supported thousands of educators and frontline workers worldwide ever since.
Prior to FH&A, Ms. Hughes ran a nonprofit that provided intercultural trauma-informed and trauma-support educational programs to youth who were incarcerated, discriminated against, and subjected to trauma and abuse.
Known for her progressive program development skills, compassion, and intuitive facilitation, Taryn has racked up thousands of 5-star program reviews. She excels at helping participants navigate complex and nuanced challenges with integrity, resilience, and hope.
New times call for new support.
Social workers and mental health professionals have access to clinical supervision for tough cases, yet many teachers are expected to navigate complex student mental health needs and rapid societal change alone.
As school staff receive more requests for restorative circle, SEL and IEP support while navigating social conflict, violence, and AI within the school walls, teachers may feel overwhelmed and unequipped. Though willing to learn, many teachers would like to have more formalized support on an ongoing basis. This allows them to build new skills, increase their capacity, and develop confidence in their expanded role.
